Sportable achieves FIFA certification for portable LPS tracking product

With this milestone, Sportable strengthens its role at the forefront of performance tracking, offering a system that combines elite accuracy with unmatched deployment flexibility.

Sportable has announced that its premier Portable LPS tracking product has been officially certified within the FIFA Quality Programme for Electronic Performance & Tracking Systems (EPTS), marking a major milestone for the company and further validating its position as a global leader in sports tracking and connected ball innovation.

At FIFA’s annual EPTS testing event in Leiria, Portugal, Sportable achieved the following certification:

  • FIFA Basic for its Player Tracking Tag, recognising conformity and safety as a high-performance wearable.
  • FIFA Quality for its EPTS tracking results, confirming high-level accuracy and consistency across positional data.

The FIFA Quality Programme for EPTS is the global benchmark for tracking accuracy and reliability in football. Systems are independently assessed against strict criteria including positional accuracy, consistency, latency, and robustness.

FIFA Quality assesses the performance of tracking devices relative to all providers in the programme. Achieving a “Well Above Industry Average” result reflects excellent accuracy, reliability, and repeatability, a level attained only by the best systems worldwide.

This achievement is powered by Sportable’s patented LPS system, built on five years of innovation. LPS delivers extreme portability without compromising performance. Using lightweight wireless anchors, the system transforms any venue, from sportsfields and training grounds to Tier 1 stadiums, into world-class tracking environments.

The result is real-time telemetry and AI created event data with sub-second latency across four sports, fully compatible with the world’s leading ball brands.

“Achieving FIFA certification for our Portable LPS is a landmark moment for Sportable,” said Pete Husemeyer, CTO of Sportable. “It validates the years of innovation and dedication behind our technology, and it proves that portability and precision can go hand in hand. Coaches, analysts, and players can have complete confidence in the accuracy of our data.”

“These certifications confirm that our player and ball tracking systems meet the demands of elite football,” added Simon Cuff, SVP Football of Sportable. “They ensure the highest standards not only on match day but also in every training session, where our technology is perfect for driving performance and preparation.”

With LPS and its certified product suite, Sportable is proving that precision and portability don’t just coexist, they define the new global standard.
