Vince Young Pissed At Pacman

Posted by rich on June 23, 2007

vyWhile the media and the rest of the world laughs at Pacman Jones’ ignorant choices, fellow Titans teammates aren’t exactly enjoying the attention.? Some of the players including star quarterback Vince Young have gone as far as calling Pacman out about not being a worthwhile teammmate.

“We want him to know these guys over here, we love him a whole lot, but we feel like he don’t care about us right now,” Young said. “At the same time, that’s his issue. He has got to take care of his problem. We want him back here, to come back over here playing and making plays because he does a whole lot for our team, but as a team we are feeling like, ‘Man, does he care about us over here?’ “

If you wouldn’t mind Vince, I believe I can answer that question.? The answer is no, he doesn’t care.? We’ve gone over this many times here at Sportable and it’s beyond comical how often this guy finds himself in trouble with the law.? Does he think he’s invincible or something?? Like breaking laws doesn’t matter and won’t affect him?? Fantastic lies.

Young is right, Pacman has been an awful teammate.? He’s a young guy loaded with talent and electrifying ability but that doesn’t really matter if he’s never on the field.? And he won’t be for the next year.? He has abandoned his teammates and broken their trust.? What needs to happen is someone needs to step up in the locker room, whoop Pacman’s ass, and let him know that he’s not the tough guy that he thinks he is and that he needs to be part of the team or get off the team.

Pacman Avoids a lot of Legal Procedures

Posted by kevin on June 13, 2007

Pacman Jones has found himself in plenty of bad situations already this year, and we gladly take all opportunities presented to give him crap for it. But it looks like for once he’s actually making a smart decision. This was clearly the work of his agent or mom or dad or sister or cousin or even his dog, basically anyone but him. Regardless of where the decision has come from, Pacman Jones has decided to drop his appeal of his year long suspension by the NFL.

I think the biggest question is where does this leave Jones. He has claimed that he’s ready to reform his ways and become a model NFL citizen, whatever the Hell that even means. Most likely it means that when he does illegal things, they will be kept more on the down low. Whatever happens, we know that Pacman won’t be using the Titans facilities anytime soon, which raises the question, what does the team do with him? Is he just going to sit around and wait for next year and fight to get his job back? I’d say that’s the fair thing to do if you are the Titans, plus it gives you an easy out if he screws up again it makes it easy to just drop his ass like a sack of bricks.

I guess we’re going to have to wait for someone else to set the precedent for an appeal of the suspension. Tank Johnson won’t do it, he already can get his sentence shortened to a mere six games. I don’t think Chris Henry cares enough to appeal, he’s probably too high to even realize what’s going on anyway. That will leave the next person who becomes a victim of the Goodell Reign to be the first person to appeal, and that could very well be everyone’s favorite dog fighter Michael Vick.

LenDale White Has Better Things to Do Than Football

Posted by ryan on May 30, 2007

l3nd13-wh1t3-custom.jpgWhen the Tennessee Titans shipped out Travis Henry, they essentially came to the conclusion that LenDale White could win the starting running back job this offseason. But they it looks like Jeff Fisher forgot that he’s a fat bastard that lacks motivation. White was a no-show during Tuesday’s team workouts and Fisher is not amused.

“Everybody else managed to make it back,” Fisher said. “He didn’t, so I don’t know, I guess he had things that are more important to him than what we’re doing. I would assume he would be back at some point today.”

While I can guess where White was instead of working out with the team, it’s safe to say that he’s getting himself further and further into Fisher’s doghouse, which isn’t something you want to do when you’re fighting for a starting job. What is it about the appetite of some of these USC guys? Mike Williams’ lazy ass never could sniff the weight requirements of the Detroit Lions and here’s White doing the same thing. He checked in at 260 pounds last year and is now displaying a real lack of motivation to get himself into shape.

It’d be foolish for LenDale to assume this job is his. He has to battle Chris Brown, a guy who put up over 1,000 yards just a couple of seasons ago. But he’ll also have to fight rookie Chris Henry, who the Titans drafted in the 2nd round this year. The Titans don’t own LenDale White anything. The sooner he realizes that, the sooner his chunky ass can get back on the field.

Where Will Keyshawn Land?

Posted by rich on May 17, 2007

keyshawnI couldn’t help but laugh when hearing the news that Keyshawn Johnson had been cut from the Carolina Panthers. While working the NFL draft for ESPN, Johnson seemed excited about the upcoming year, only to get owned by Panthers management after they drafted USC wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett.

There’s speculation as to where Keyshawn will land, though its undeniable that there are teams that could use a veteran receiver like Johnson. One place he could very well end up at is Tennessee with young star Vince Young. Sure, the two might get at each other with an instant Texas USC rivalry, but Young could use a veteran like Johnson to get open while Young dodges the defenders coming through the revolving door offensive line of the Titans.

Another place he could end up is with Brett Favre in Green Bay. Favre hasn’t kept quiet about his disappointment in the Packers organization for not going after Randy Moss. Keyshawn doesn’t exactly have the blazing speed of Moss, but he’s a hell of an upgrade over Greg Jennings or Ruvell Martin (who the hell are these guys?). It would be good for Keyshawn to go to a city that would support him even when he drops crucial balls, unlike in New York where the fans rode his ass out of town.

Keyshawn still has some time to decide where he wants to end up. In my opinion, Tennessee and Green Bay would be his best options. Though he asked the Chargers (who promptly said hell no), I think his best fit would be in a middle of the pack team where he can be the guy who puts the team over the top and into contention.

Pac Man is Sorry

Posted by rich on April 20, 2007

pac man jonesPac Man Jones is sorry, ladies and gentlemen. He’s so sorry that he took out a full page ad in the Tennessean, Nashville’s major paper, saying that he promises to regain the trust and support of fans.

It’s funny because normally I would take this as a sign of surrendering to the media and fans, and committing to get back on track and do well in the community. With Pac Man, it seems to me more like a crock of bullshit. What are you sorry about Pac Man? Are you sorry about knocking off a bouncer at a Vegas strip club? Are you sorry about assaulting females? Are you sorry about the gun charges you are facing? Why in the world should I believe a man who says he’s sorry after he’s been in trouble with police 10 times in the two years he’s been in the league?

Pac Man is a good football player, and he brings a real excitement to the field when he returns punts or interceptions. At the same time, Pac Man likes to get down, and he likes to kick it with the wrong crowd. Being suspended for a year would straighten most people out. Whether or not it fixes Pac Man is yet to be seen. Regardless of whether or not he does get himself together, he’s messed up big time in the short period in the league, and that’s something that, apology or not, will never be forgotten by fans.

Tennessee Titans Fans: Be Afraid

Posted by ryan on April 17, 2007

vince-madden-custom.jpgJust a couple of months after Vince Young wowed us during his rookie season with the Tennessee Titans, he may have more to fear than just a sophomore slump. The former Texas star has been chosen as cover boy for EA Sports’ Madden 2008, which will be formally announced today. But if you ask Titans fans, you’ll probably hear two words: Madden. Curse.

If you’re familiar with Madden, you’re probably familiar with the curse that comes along with being on the cover of the game. The curse really got going in 2002, as Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper went down with a knee injury. In 2003, Marshall Faulk missed five games and didn’t crack 1,000 yards. What looked like a mere coincidence became even more ridiculous the next few years.

In 2004, Michael Vick broke his leg in the preseason just a couple of days after the game hit shelves. 2005’s cover boy, Ray Lewis, missed ten games due to injury. The following season, Donovan McNabb dealt with a hernia and Terrell Owens. And last season, Shaun Alexander’s rushing output dropped nearly 1,000 yards because of injury problems. As if that wasn’t enough, his touchdown record fell to LaDainian Tomlinson.

This thing speaks for itself. There’s a reason Chargers’ fans started a petition to prevent LaDainian Tomlinson from gracing the cover. There’s a reason that fans cringed over the thought of Peyton Manning or Tom Brady being on the cover. Vince Young may have the money and publicity that comes with the release of the game. But in a few months, Titans Nation might be dealing with an injury to their franchise player.
