As we all know, Michael Vick is absolutely screwed, in addition to facing jail time and the end of his football career, Vick is now being slapped with a 63 billion dollar lawsuit. The lawsuit claims that Vick was tied to Al-Qaeda and stole pitbulls with which to dogfight with to win money to purchase missiles from Iran. Unfortunately these are stories you can’t make up, and also unfortunately, this is a legal matter Vick is sure to win.
Speaking of NFL players gone bad, Pacman Jones is finding new ways to keep himself busy and in the media spotlight. Just after his attempt at wrestling, Pacman is going to try his hand at another career, that of a hip-hop artist. I’m expecting this to go over as well as Ron Artest’s hip-hop career.
Tim Donaghy has just about ended his ungraceful fall from the NBA spotlight. He plead guilty to felony charges today and is facing up to 25 years in prison. It looks like it really sucks to be involved in sports right now.

Because Barry Bonds can’t get enough of himself, he is again pimping himself to the media. Bonds broke the all time home run record and since people stopped talking about him he came out and announced that next year will probably be his last year in baseball. Who doesn’t love a media whore like this?
Michael Vick is absolutely screwed. Now he has no co-defendants, and those former defendants have turned into weapons for the prosecutor. Have fun Mike Vick, have fun.
It’s a sad day for the Yankees organization, and for baseball as a whole. Phil Rizzuto passed away today, and baseball lost one of the best shortstops of all time, certainly the best of his era.
Cameroon is evidently a popular place for soccer coaches to go. The Cameroonian soccer federation has announced that 78 different people applied for the job as manager of their national team. Of course posting the job listing on your website is a pretty good way to get applications.
Tiger Woods has announced the location of the first golf course he will design in America. Tiger will take on a natural piece of land in North Carolina, and no doubt this will quickly become one of the most sought after tee times in the United States. As if Tiger didn’t have enough going for him, he now has another business which he can dominate in.

Tiger Woods reasserted his dominance over the golf world by winning the PGA Championship. While it may not have been the most dramatic of finishes, Woods held on to his Sunday lead and his one under round of 69 was good enough to give him a two stroke victory. Also of note in the tournament was John Daly’s complete weekend collapse, firing three straight rounds of 73 to end the tournament in a tie for 32nd.
The Seattle Supersonics owners have finally said what everyone knew all along: they want to move the team to Oklahoma City. Of course they have left an option for the city of Seattle to step up and provide a home for the Supersonics, but we can all safely assume that won’t happen.
Pat Riley has committed to three more years of coaching the Miami Heat, and given himself more opportunities to bail on his team mid-season. Riley’s contract extension shows he has faith in the team, but based off of his performance last season, and 22 game disappearance as the Heat struggled, I’m not too sold on that faith.
Rick Ankiel is back, and he’s hitting bombs. Ankiel has played four games and has three home runs and six RBI’s. He is hitting a solid .375 and has really become one fo the best feel good stories of the year.
Cal Ripken remains a glimmer of hope amongst despair in baseball. About a week after one of the most sacred records in baseball fell to one who many consider a cheat and a terrible person, Cal Ripken continued his good work by starting his new job as a goodwill ambassador for the United States State Department. At least we know not all athletes are terrible people.

Sad news comes to us from Little Rock, Arkansas, where Minor League baseball coach Mike Coolbaugh was hit in the head with a line drive, which later killed him. Coolbaugh, who was the hitting instructor for the Tulsa Drillers, was still alive when he was put into the ambulance but died shortly upon arriving at the hospital. Mike Coolbaugh is survived by his wife, Mandy, and two young sons, Joseph and Jacob. Mandy Coolbaugh is expecting another child in October.
Michael Rasmussen of Denmark leads the Tour de France by 2:23 as the tour heads into stage 16 on Wednesday. Only three Americans find themselves in the top 50 riders, with Levi Leiphiemer sitting in fourth place. The race will wrap up this weekend in Paris, as the riders stroll past the Champs-Elys?es for the finish.
Kobe Bryant hit a game winning shot last night in an intrasquad game between the United States. Bryant finished with 26 points. Carmelo Anthony led all scorers with 28 points and rookie phenom Kevin Durant put up 22. Team USA is training in Las Vegas right now in preparation for the Tournament of Americas later this summer. The top two finishers head to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Sergio Garcia finds himself at the top of the leaderboard in the British Open. This leaves the entire world expecting him to collapse over the next two days. Considering there is almost no doubt that will happen, it is going to be a tough thing to watch.
In what could turn out to be one of the biggest scandals in recent sports memories, there are reports that an NBA referee is under investigation for betting on basketball games. This will of course bring the Pete Rose ordeal back into the public spotlight, and will damage the NBA image even more, which has already been ripped to shreds.
In response to Kobe Bryant demanding the Lakers improve this offseason, the team has made two key signings over the last two days. First they inked Chris Mihm, and now they have brought Derek Fisher back to the place where he started his career. These are great for the Lakers because you know, a subpar center and a role player is exactly what the team needed to get to the next level.
Chilean soccer players have one-upped their fans. After their recent loss to Argentina in the Under 20 World Cup the players got into an altercation with Toronto police. The result? All 21 Chilean players being detained by police. You expect hooligans to brawl, you usually don’t expect the players to get involved as well.

Hey, at least the Brewers are in first place. After the Milwaukee Bucks selected Chinese sensation Yi Jianlian, it was widely speculated that he would never suit up in a small Asian market. That became even more likely today, as Yi’s Chinese team confirmed that they will block his move to the United States. Basketball officials say the Bucks aren’t good for Yi’s development because of their frontcourt situation. I’d say crippling any relationship with the NBA isn’t good either.
The final table of the World Series of Poker Main Event has been set. With veteran Scotty Nguyen bowing out in 11th place, the final table once again consists of mostly unknown players. A smaller tournament field hasn’t changed the fact that professionals have little chance of ever winning the Main Event again. Over 6300 players has been cut down to nine, with the winner taking home over $8 million.
In your weekly Pacman Jones update, the NFL may allow the cornerback criminal to appear at the Titans’ training camp. I’m not sure why Tennessee would even want this to fly. He’d bring chaos and distraction to the camp. I would think Jeff Fisher would rather look at the guys who will make an impact on the field this season. Jones was suspended for the entire 2008 season.
In case you haven’t heard, David Beckham is set to make his debut for the Galaxy on Saturday against English powerhouse Chelsea. However, there’s fear that his role may be reduced in that game, thanks to a swollen ankle. The Beckham experiment appears to be working so far. The team has sold over 250,000 Beckham shirts so far.
