In this episode of the Sportable Spot, I spoke to CBS Sports’ Gus Johnson about his thoughts on the New York Knicks’ hiring of Mike D’Antoni. Johnson, an announcer for the Knicks on the Madison Square Garden Network, weighed in on the hiring. Also, we also talked about CBS Sports’ new Saturday Night Fight series , which debuts May 31 with Kimbo Slice taking on James Thompson.

Assuming you didn’t live in a plastic bubble, you were familiar with the show Power Rangers. In this show, five nerdy friends transformed into costumed assassins who fought crime. Years after the show ended, it appears one ranger isn’t ready to leave combat behind. Jason David Frank, notable for his roles as the White and Green Power Ranger, will soon be making his Illinois Cage Fighting debut.
I just like to fight,” Frank said. “It’s always been in my blood.”
After years of restrictions from fighting because of contracts with Disney, Frank is now getting a chance to show his skills. But Frank said he’s doing this for more than the rush in a fight.
“I don’t need to fight for money like all these other guys,” he said. “I just do it because I like to.”
We’ll see how much this guy likes fighting when he’s in a choke-hold at the hands of Ron “Badger” McMasters. We know Tommy was a powerful, powerful man on television but how will he fare in the Octagon? If I had to take a guess, I’d say it would fall somewhere between “bad” and “really bad.” Tommy isn’t going to have the services of Zoron or Alpha Five in this brawl. That means he’s doomed.
In case you were wondering what became of the Red Power Ranger, Jason, well, you’ll be surprised. Austin St. John, the guy who played Jason, is apparently in the world of porn. You can’t make this shit up. He’s gone from the Tyrannosaurus Rex to some STD-ridden porn star. Wow.

Saturday Night marked the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) debut of two notable athletes. One of them was former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar, who also had a failed tenure with the Minnesota Vikings. But the talk of the night was the unflattering debut of former Lions wide receiver Johnnie Morton. It was a double whammy for Morton, who was knocked unconscious in less than 40 seconds. To add insult to injury, Morton refused a post-fight drug test. As a penalty, he was suspended and denied his purse. Ouch.
