The Oakland Raiders’ cluster of a season grows more comical by the day, whether it’s a humiliating dismantling at the hands of the Oakland Raiders, or firing an up-and-coming head coach that got the most out of his shit-filled roster. But this recent move may take the cake. Various reports say the Raiders are close to cutting ties with dickhead cornerback DeAngelo Hall, their high-priced acquisition from the offseason.

Remember when Hall and Nnamdi Asomugha were going to form the most lethal cornerback duo in the AFC? Welp, Asomugha held up his end of the bargain, but Hall has been the trainwreck we knew and loved in the ATL. When he’s not racking up personal foul penalties, he’s getting pimp slapped by studs like Michael Jenkins and Eddie Royal. 

Somewhere in Atlanta, the Falcons’ brass is LOLing. Not only did they watch the Raiders throw a $70 million extension at Hall, but they got a second round pick out of the deal, a pick that will probably be in the low 30s due to Oakland’s failboat of a season. But yeah, it was Lane Kiffin’s fault, definitely. 

Even if Hall is cut, you think he gives a shit? He’s already got paid $8 million and if he’s able to hold onto his job through the offseason, he’s due another $16 million. But hey, lets be honest. Hall is the lone blemish on an offseason that included monster contracts to Javon Walker, Tommie Kelly and Gibril Wilson.

Seriously, spitting on someone? Come on Terrell, you may be a team cancer, and an annoyance, but you’re better than that, aren’t you? You really have to be a despicable human being to spit in the face of someone. I mean really, its almost unbelievable.

Look at the past two players who have been involved in spitting in the face of an opponent. Bill Romanowski and Sean Taylor are just two names that come to mind. Those are obviously two people you want to model yourself after. A racist steroid user, and a guy who is working up a great legal record. And now Terrell Owens is following in their footsteps and getting fined $35,000 because of it. I enjoyed his explanation that it was an accident. How the hell is spitting on someone an accident? Do you miss where you’re aiming?

Then came the admission that he was frustrated and that he apologized after he spit in DeAngelo Hall’s face. I don’t give a damn how frustrated you are, you simply don’t spit in the face of someone else. It’s dehumanizing and just flat out stupid. Owens is lucky that Hall didn’t just break his leg. If I were in his situation it probably would have been that at minimum. If someone spits on someone else in everyday life there is a guaranteed ass beating to come.

I dislike Owens, and for as annoying, stupid, and distracting as he is I thought he was a decent human being. I guess I thought wrong. This is even more incentive for me to hate him. I wish Owens was suspended for this because it really is an embarrassment to him, to his team, and to the entire NFL.
