A.J. Pierzynski and Drama; I’m Shocked!

Posted by kevin on May 22, 2007

As is usually the case with all stories involving A.J. Pierzynski, the most recent one has been blown way out of proportion and has probably been taken out of context. Pierzynski was on a radio show in Chicago and complained about not being in the lineup for the series opener against the Chicago Cubs. This promptly lead Ozzie Guillen to go on one of his trademarked rants involving plenty of cuss words, and probably plenty of insults.

Quick to also jump on Pierzynski was Mark Buehrle who came to the defense of backup catcher Toby Hall, saying what Pierzynski did was disrespectful. This immediately got taken out of context by everyone who implied that Buehrle hated Pierzynski and that a brawl between the two was imminent. That whole mess has been patched up, and there appears to be no bad blood between the two, however there will be an overlying grudge in the White Sox locker room. It’s clear that Pierzynski thinks that he is better and more important than the team, and that really isn’t a good thing, especially in baseball. He’s always been a dick, but I don’t think that Pierzynski had ever put himself above his team, at least not until now.

What we could see here is the development of the Terrell Owens of baseball. If he is more concerned about himself than the success of his team, he isn’t going to be as productive or helpful to his team, whether he’s playing or taking a day off. When you combine Pierzynski and Guillen, you’re asking for a meltdown, and we could see one of those between manager and catcher at some point soon here.

Pierzynski Making the Rounds

Posted by ryan on February 9, 2007

I never liked AJ Pierzynski. Then his redneck ass decided to play the role of security guard on Jerry Springer. When I didn’t think he could stoop lower, he’s done just that. I saw this on Deadspin earlier today and had to post it here. Apparently, Pierzynski will be appearing in a tag team match at a TNA Pay-Per-View. For those that don’t know, TNA is a lesser version of the WWE. Team Eckstein? Don’t tell me that little douchebag will be making an appearance. I simply can’t believe what the hell…IS THAT JOHNNY DAMON???

A.J. Pierzynski Goes Classy

Posted by kevin on January 25, 2007

Everyones favorite catcher, A.J. Pierzynski, made a guest appearance on the Jerry Springer show. Unfortunately for everyone, it isn’t because he was in love with a transsexual. No, Pierzynski made an appearance as a member of the security.

I have a few questions about this. What the hell caused Pierzynski to decide to do this? Did he call up Jerry Springer? Did Jerry Springer call him up? Did the White Sox add a clause to his contract stipulating that any injury caused by the psycho on the show wouldn’t be covered by them? I’m going to give Pierzynski some credit and call him one of the biggest a-holes in sports, but I think Jerry could have found someone a little more intimidating than him.

Pierzynski doesn’t have a history of breaking up fights, he has a history inf instigating them. Bad choice for the security job? Probably, but then again, after seeing baseball fights, most of them are hardly more intimidating than what happens on the set of Jerry Springer.

At least A.J. got to improve his public image. It’s not like the entire world thought he was trashy anyways. Errrrr. I haven’t met Pierzynski, nor do I really want to. I haven’t heard anything good about him yet, and this appearance certainly won’t change any of that.
