Sportable NFL Pick ‘Em: Week 15

by ryan on December 13, 2008

Standings
Ryan: 101-95-6
Kevin: 99-97-6
Rich: 97-99-6

Sonny: 97-99-6

Ryan: Redskins -7 over Bengals. The Skins have fallen on some hard times in the last month, largely because they can’t score any points. Lucky for them, the Bengals’ offense has been even worse. The Skins finally get a breather after a really tough stretch in their schedule, and I think they roll here.
Rich: Redskins -7 over Bengals.
Kevin: Redskins -7 over Bengals.

Ry: Texans +3 over Titans. I know the Texans are playing some good football, but this small spread still screams “trap game.” Therefore, I’ll take Houston.
Ri: Titans -3 over Texans.
K: TItans -3 over Texans.

Ry: Colts -17 over Lions. Come on, Peyton. Just show up, kick some ass and send the Lions even closer to a historic 0-16 season. Detroit hung with Minnesota and I can’t see them putting up two competent efforts in a row. Colts roll behind their rejuvenated offense.
Ri: Colts -17 over Lions.
K: Colts -17 over Lions

Ry: Jags +1 over Packers. Talk about a battle between two disappointing teams. I’m more inclined to back Jacksonville here because the Pack have lost five of six. With Fred Taylor out, it’ll be up to Maurice Jones-Drew to run over the Packers’ defense. I think he’s up to the “test.”
Ri: Packers -1 over Jags.
K: Packers -1 over Jaguars.

Ri: Chiefs +5.5 over Chargers. The weather is going to be shit and it’s in Arrowhead, an equalizer no matter how bad the Chiefs are.  This KC team, despite their record, has played well as of late and Tyler Thigpen looks like he’s getting the hang of it.  Let’s not forget that this Chiefs team almost beat the Chargers in San Diego a few weeks back.
Ry: Chargers -5.5 over Chiefs
K: Chargers -5.5 over Chiefs.

Ri: Dolphins -6 over Niners. I’m not sure if there’s a better interim coach than Mike Singletary.  The Niners are clearly a different team under him.  Likewise, the Dolphins are clearly different under Tony Sporano and Bill Parcells.  Believe it or not, this one win team of a year ago is playing for a playoff spot.
Ry: Niners +6 over Dolphins
K: Niners +6 over Dolphins.

Ri: Jets -9 over Bills. The Bills have turned from a pleasant surprise to an utter disaster.  Like the Dolphins, the Jets need this game to stay in the AFC East playoff hunt.  Favre, I’m counting on you for my fantasy team, you old son of a bitch.
Ry: Jets -9 over Bills
K: Bills +9 over Jets.

Ri: Rams +1 over Seahawks. Nobody wins in this game.
Ry: Seahawks -1 over Rams
K: Rams +1 over Seahawks.

Ri: Buccaneers +3 over Falcons. This Falcons team has, without a doubt, been the positive surprise of the year in the NFL.  And with some jerkoff ESPN analysts contending Matt Ryan should be the NFL MVP, you know this team has made it.  I still think, however, that the Bucs are the all around better team.
Ry: Falcons -3 over Bucs
K: Bucs +3 over Falcons

Ri: Cardinals -3 over Vikings. There’s a reason the Vikings made the quarterback switch at the beginning of the year to bench Tavaris Jackson’s sorry ass.  He’s just not that good.
Ry: Vikings +3 over Cardinals.
K: Cardinals -3 over Vikings.

S: Vikings +3 over Cardinals.

Ri: Patriots -7 over Al Davis’ Corpse. Seven is a gift of a line for the Raiders in this game.  If you ask Randy Moss, he’ll tell you the line should be 18.
Ry: Pats -7 over Just Lose Baby.
K: Patriots -7 over Raiders.

S: Pats -7 over Raiders.

Ri: Steelers +3 over Ravens. The final score of this game might just be 5-3.  Arguably the two best defenses in the NFL are going to go after it in what will assuredly be shitty weather on the eastern seaboard.  A good matchup to watch will be Troy Polamalu vs Ed Reed.  Two of the best safeties in the league get to show off today.
Ry: Steelers +3 over Ravens.
K: Steelers +3 over Ravens.

S: Steelers +3 over Ravens.

Ri: Panthers -9 over Jay Cutler’s insulin addiction. At the beginning of the year we made fun of the Panthers for not being a complete team.  Boy were we wrong.  Now the only people I’m making fun of are the people who passed on Steve Smith and let me have him in the fifth round of our fantasy draft.
Ry: Broncos +9 over Panthers.
K: Broncos +9 over Panthers.

S: Panthers -9 over Broncos.

Ri: Cowboys -3 over Giants. My God the Cowboys are a mess.  Terrell Owens has thrown everyone under the bus and he’s back to the old Terrell Owens that we know and hate.  That said, I think the Giants not having Brandon Jacobs will have a profound impact on this game.
Ry: Giants +3 over Cowboys.
K: Giants +3 over Cowboys.

S: Cowboys -3 over Giants.

Ri: Eagles -14 over Browns. With Ken Dorsey starting for the Browns, this game is going to be a blowout.
Ry: Eagles -14 over Browns.
K: Eagles -14 over Browns.

S: Eagles -14 over Browns.
