wsop.jpgHey, at least the Brewers are in first place. After the Milwaukee Bucks selected Chinese sensation Yi Jianlian, it was widely speculated that he would never suit up in a small Asian market. That became even more likely today, as Yi’s Chinese team confirmed that they will block his move to the United States. Basketball officials say the Bucks aren’t good for Yi’s development because of their frontcourt situation. I’d say crippling any relationship with the NBA isn’t good either.

The final table of the World Series of Poker Main Event has been set. With veteran Scotty Nguyen bowing out in 11th place, the final table once again consists of mostly unknown players. A smaller tournament field hasn’t changed the fact that professionals have little chance of ever winning the Main Event again. Over 6300 players has been cut down to nine, with the winner taking home over $8 million.

In your weekly Pacman Jones update, the NFL may allow the cornerback criminal to appear at the Titans’ training camp. I’m not sure why Tennessee would even want this to fly. He’d bring chaos and distraction to the camp. I would think Jeff Fisher would rather look at the guys who will make an impact on the field this season. Jones was suspended for the entire 2008 season.

In case you haven’t heard, David Beckham is set to make his debut for the Galaxy on Saturday against English powerhouse Chelsea. However, there’s fear that his role may be reduced in that game, thanks to a swollen ankle. The Beckham experiment appears to be working so far. The team has sold over 250,000 Beckham shirts so far.
