You would think an eight-time boxing champion would have enough money to buy anything he wanted. But in the case of Hector “Macho” Camacho, it appears he’d rather steal things instead. Camacho was sentenced to seven years in prison for burglary but, as is the case with celebrities, can reduce his sentence to one year of house arrest.

Camacho had bought a laptop from the business but left it there for work on technical problems. He was trying to retrieve his computer and was “crazy” on tequila, he said, when he crawled through the ceiling of office space he shares with the computer company.

Wayne Woodall, the store owners’ attorney, claims Camacho fell through the ceiling and left with seven laptops and about $5,600 in checks and cash.

I suppose you can’t blame Camacho. After all, after taking a few shots, I’m always down to break through ceilings and steal shit. Macho Camacho may be a boxing great but he’s a true dumbass. Along with this thieving case, he’s set to go to trial for drug possession after ten Ecstasy pills were found in his hotel room. The thought of a boxer falling through a ceiling to steal computers is simply mind-boggling.

It’s up to Puerto Rico to save Camacho’s ass. If they decide to monitor him, all he’ll serve is a year of house arrest and two years of probation. That’s a small slap on the wrist for a guy that was arrested at the age of 16 for auto theft. Maybe he’ll just steal the Puerto Rican judge’s gavel so he can avoid punishment altogether.
