Hoffman Better Than Mo? Please Stop [Valentine's View]: A blog we read regularly has responded to Rich’s article that praised Trevor Hoffman as the best closer in baseball history. Sure, there’s bias on both sides. This blog has its New York bias and we have our West Coast bias. But it’s a hell of a debate. Who’s to say Hoffman wouldn’t have those same accolades if the teams were reversed?
Classic Nintendo Sports [Ghosts of Wayne Fontes]: What would the sports blog world be without YouTube? Probably a lot less fun. Here’s a great article that rounds up some truly classic sports games on the original NES system. Kung Fu is on there, which makes this list great.
This Time, It’s Personal! [Pyle of List]: You’re not a true sports fan unless you want to kick an athlete’s ass. Personally, I’ve always wanted to hit Jeff Kent with a chair. Throw in Manu Ginobili too. This blog, mentioned on Deadspin yesterday, has grudges against Matt Barnes and Robert Horry.
There’s No Crying in Baseball [Sports Frappe]: Word has come out that Cubs teammates Carlos Zambrano and Michael Barrett shared a good cry after their fight in the dugout last weekend. It’s just another strange twist in a very eventful Cubs season.
