LenDale White Has Better Things to Do Than Football

When the Tennessee Titans shipped out Travis Henry, they essentially came to the conclusion that LenDale White could win the starting running back job this offseason. But they it looks like Jeff Fisher forgot that he’s a fat bastard that lacks motivation. White was a no-show during Tuesday’s team workouts and Fisher is not amused.
“Everybody else managed to make it back,” Fisher said. “He didn’t, so I don’t know, I guess he had things that are more important to him than what we’re doing. I would assume he would be back at some point today.”
While I can guess where White was instead of working out with the team, it’s safe to say that he’s getting himself further and further into Fisher’s doghouse, which isn’t something you want to do when you’re fighting for a starting job. What is it about the appetite of some of these USC guys? Mike Williams’ lazy ass never could sniff the weight requirements of the Detroit Lions and here’s White doing the same thing. He checked in at 260 pounds last year and is now displaying a real lack of motivation to get himself into shape.
It’d be foolish for LenDale to assume this job is his. He has to battle Chris Brown, a guy who put up over 1,000 yards just a couple of seasons ago. But he’ll also have to fight rookie Chris Henry, who the Titans drafted in the 2nd round this year. The Titans don’t own LenDale White anything. The sooner he realizes that, the sooner his chunky ass can get back on the field.
