New York Rangers 2, Buffalo Sabres 1 (2OT): The Battle of New York is producing quite a series. After dropping the first two games in Buffalo, the Rangers came back with an exciting win at Madison Square Garden. A goal by Michael Rozsival late in the 2nd overtime gave the Rangers the win and put them back in the series. Goalkeepers dominated this one. The Rangers’ Henrik Lundqvist had 38 saves and Buffalo’s Ryan Miller had a whopping 44. The series remains at the Garden for game four, which is tomorrow night.
Anaheim Ducks 3, Vancouver Canucks 2: After seeing home ice advantage melt away in game two (pun intended), the Ducks flew up to Canada and did the same thing to the Canucks. Two powerplay goals by the Ducks, including Corey Perry’s game-winner, gave the Ducks a 2-1 lead in the series. The Canucks outshot the Ducks 13-2 in the first period but had to settle for a 1-1 tie after the first period. After that, JS Giguere stepped up for the Ducks and Vancouver’s Roberto Luongo showed that he’s a bit mortal. Game four of this one is tomorrow night.
