The Copa America is set to kickoff on June 26, and as usual, Brazil will be one of the tournament favorites. A team that will have astronomical odds to win it all will be Venezuela. That slight talent differential is doing nothing to quell the patriotism and faith that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has in his team.
Chavez went as far as to imply that Venezuela will be the team to beat at this year’s Copa America tournament and should have no problem taking down Brazil. Now, the fact that both teams drew separate groups is the first hindrance to the teams facing off. The other is the minor fact that Venezuela has never advanced past the group stage in the tournament. A further testament to the disparity between these teams would be Brazil’s five World Cup titles and Venezuela’s lack of a World Cup appearance.
If Chavez wasn’t living in his own world he would realize that this won’t ever happen. Then again, we’re talking about a man who trains his citizens on how to repel amphibious assaults on their nation, so I guess you could say logic is thrown out the window. Maybe he thought the Copa America was a baseball competition like the World Baseball Classic. Then again, maybe he’s just a moron. Venezuela will show up to the tournament, get their asses handed to them on a silver platter and then head home. Brazil will probably hoist the trophy, and all will be well within the world.

Don’t be surprised if Brazil doesn’t win! Brazilian coach Dunga might not take all of his superstars creating a chance for either Argentina, Mexico, and even the United States to take home the trophy. As far as Venezuela is concerned; they won’t make it very far. And when they do get sent home, they will not have to travel very far because the tourney is in Venezuela!
even without participating the USA has a better chance than the fighting hugos
