I called out Levi Jones yesterday in our “Jersey Not to Buy” segment for his altercation with Joey Porter. Now the full story has come out, and I feel a need to apologize to Levi Jones. Jones wasn’t the one who backed down or took anything from Porter during the fight. In fact, it is now being reported that he threw Porter “like a rag doll.”
Needless to say, my opinion of Jones has pulled a complete 180. If you’re bad enough to take on Joey Porter in the streets of Vegas, you’ve earned my respect. We know that all Joey Porter does is run his mouth, and it’s great to see someone finally stand up to him. I’m now rooting for Jones in this battle, he has gone from scapegoat to hero in my eyes.
My solution is simple. Everyone remembers when FOX hosted their celebrity boxing show. So I’m going to push for Levi Jones and Joey porter to step in the ring and strap on their boxing gloves. Jones may have the pure power and size to beat Porter, but he would have to deal with his quickness. In a street fight (like the one in Vegas) my money would be on Jones. In an actually boxing match my money would still be on Jones, but I would imagine that Porter would be able to put up a better fight.
So let’s solve this once and for all. I’m sure we can find someone (see: Don King) to promote a fight like this. And who wouldn’t want to watch this fight. Of course, if that doesn’t work, I think I know someone else who might be interested in the feud. Just imagine Kellen Winslow running down the ramp for interference with a chair in his hands. Oh the possibilities.
