College Hoops 2K7 Previews The Midwest Region

Using College Hoops 2K7, I’ve decided to simulate through the entire NCAA tournament. While this will be used for little besides a fun simulation, it will be interesting to see the results. If you’re in the market for a college hoops game, we reccomend this one. The review for the game can be found here.

The Western regional had a bit of an expected ending because the regional final matched #1 Florida and #2 Wisconsin. The Gators? trip to a second consecutive Final Four was denied, as the Badgers? outscored Florida 37-25 in the second half. Kammron Taylor and Alando Tucker combined for 39 points. Florida?s 18 turnovers certainly contributed to their demise.
This region also saw a couple of Cinderella runs. At least they were by teams with a bit of hope. The 11th seed Winthrop throttled both Notre Dame and Miami-Ohio but crashed hard against Wisconsin. Old Dominion also made a run into the Sweet 16 and nearly pulled off a huge upset over Florida. But Cory Brewer?s 20 points were too much.
It appears this game has a hard time with accurate predictions for the 3-6 seeds. Through two regions, the underdog is 8-0 in these matchups. That?s slightly unrealistic. I can understand maybe a 4-4 record in these games. But undefeated either way is wrong. Indiana will face Wisconsin in the Final Four, which will be played tomorrow. The Eastern and Southern regions will also be simulated tomorrow on Sportable. Will there be an overwhelming Big Ten bias?

Arizona will hold Purdue to 43 points!? The Wildcats couldn’t stop a runny nose on the moon.
