How Do You Say “Liar” in Bosnian?

vlad-rad-snowboard-custom.jpgIt seems like just a few days ago, we were laughing at Ken Griffey Jr. finally coming clean about his reason for injury. While we were at it, we made a reference to Jeff Kent lying to the Los Angeles Dodgers about the cause of his. Vladimir Radmanovic decided to join in on the fun. Remember the eight weeks he missed because of “falling on a patch of ice”? It turns out he fell and dislocated his shoulder while snowboarding.

“The truth is that I hurt myself in a fall while snowboarding,” Radmanovic said. “Being young and sometimes immature, I initially panicked and made up a false story about how I hurt myself. However, over the past few days my conscience has been bothering me terribly. I am not a dishonest person and could no longer live with this deception. Therefore, I came forward today and told the truth to the Lakers.”

I respect Radmanovic for coming clean and confessing it, rather than somebody else telling what really happened. But he really needs to use better common sense. I know it’s a tough thing for athletes to comprehend but snowboarding during the NBA All Star Break isn’t a very good choice, especially when your team has lost five games in a row and already has tons of guys on the injured list.

At least Radmanovic has some prior experience on a snowboard and knew exactly what to do on the slopes in Park City, Utah. Wrong. It turns out Vlad Rad had never snowboarded before the incident. “I mean, things happen, but you don’t think they’re going to happen to you.” Here’s what’s going to happen now, Vlad. You’re going to watch your team in street clothes for the next two months. And if you’re smart, you’ll keep your bearded ass off the slopes.
