The Browns Actually Won Something!

by kevin on February 23, 2007

Alright, so it may have been a coin toss to determine if they would have the 3rd or 4th overall pick in the 2007 draft. But hell, a win is a win, especially if you’re in Cleveland. Of course in true Browns fashion, the victory was handed to them as Tampa Bay GM Bruce Allen called heads on the coin toss. Evidently someone needs to go back to the 3rd grade. Tails never fails Mr. Allen.

It’ll be interesting to see what they do with the pick since they need help basically everywhere. There are rumors that they will be taking Adrian Peterson in the 3 slot, but also that there are a number of teams interested in trading up. I don’t pretend to be Mel Kiper Jr. so I can’t say I know what is going to happen.

If I were making decisions for the Browns (I think I’d rather take a good deal of physical pain) I would trade the pick down. This team needs to start over, and this is a good time to stockpile draft picks. Next year will probably find the Browns mired in another miserable season, but at least from now until April 28th they’re winners.
