Sonny’s Stylewatch: NBA GPS Hats

gps-lid-custom.jpgDuring my Stylewatch article last week I talked about the new NBA City Series hats which displayed city skylines. This week you can forget about the skyline as today’s article will show you exactly where your favorite team is playing ball.

The best part of the GPS hats is the name of the streets on the maps. On the Boston Celtics hat you can easily see where the TD Banknorth Garden Arena is located as well as Canal St. Moving a little southwest the World’s Most Famous Arena is showed on the New York Knick’s cap. Just around the corner from 7th Ave., Madison Square Garden is located in the heart of Manhattan. The Philadelphia 76ers hat is kind of dull, but none the less it is a tight hat depicting Philly and the Wachovia Center. The hat also comes in 2 other colors for you to choose from if you would like to buy it.

Moving towards the midwest the Indiana Pacers GPS hat is pretty tight. It shows exactly where the Conseco Fieldhouse is located right off Conseco court and South Pennsylvania St. Looking North of Indiana the Detroit Pistons hat has a little something different. Off-ramps of freeways are clearly visible as the star shows where The Palace is located.

I think it’s pretty cool when you roll up to the arena every night where the streets are named All Star Way and Victory Avenue. That’s just what you get when you look at the Dallas Mavericks cap in the GPS style. The Mavericks hat also comes in 2 other colors as well. Staying within Texas I don’t really like the Houston Rockets GPS cap. Nothing against Houston or anything, but it just seems plain. However if your a Rockets fan you should seriously represent. The San Antonio Spurs GPS hat also does not have a lot of streets displayed on it, however you have to love how there arena is located just off Coca Cola Place.

Heading out west it’s time to take a look the Los Angeles Lakers cap. The Staples Center is located right off Chick Hearn Court and South Figueroa St. The color of the hat is solid and adds a nice retro touch. Moving within the division the Phoenix Suns also have a GPS hat. I really like how South 1st and 3rd Street are parallel to each other and then how East Jefferson St. runs through the two. I have saved the best hat for last. The Golden State Warriors have the coolest hat by far. “The City” logo on the side of the hat is extremely clutch along with it being displayed on the back of the cap as well too.

You can find all the GPS hats here for certain NBA teams, but make sure you check out your local Lids to see if they carry other hats representing your favorite NBA team. MLB GPS hats can also be found at Lids as well.
