desmond-heisman.jpgDesmond Howard: Sports Journalist of the Year [the 12th Manchild]: Well Desmond, I’d like you to prepare for tomorrow’s show. Here’s how you start: know the damn bowl matchups before we go on the air. Desmond Howard really hyped up that Texas-Cal Holiday Bowl. One problem, however. The Holiday Bowl teams are Texas A&M and Cal. That’d be pretty awkward to correct live on the air.

Suddenly, I Understand German [With Leather]: Possibly the funniest damn thing I’ve ever seen. The video has been around for years. However, the Cubs’ subtitles are new. This video synchronizes better than most videos I’ve seen on YouTube, including this gem. Watch it immediately.

Deceased Giants Owner’s Son Goes Bananas at NYSE; Eagles Fan Responsible [Slacker Sports]: Braaaaawlin. In the aftermath of Philadelphia’s win over the Giants, an Eagles fan/Wall St. Floor Trader went up to Mara and impersonated the Giants’ trademark “Ballin” celebration. Mara responded by tackling the trader and choking him out, saying he was “fu**ing with his family.” For once, I’m siding with Philly fans on this one. It’s just typical smacktalk at the workplace, deal with it.

Is David Stern still the right man for the job? [In The Fray]: Stern’s NBA has fallen on hard times over the past couple years. What once was a fun sport to watch has grown stale, thanks in part to Stern’s constant rule changes. The leather ball controversy and new dress code has left many pissed off and wondering where the fun NBA has gone.
