Let’s Cheat

Want to find the dirtiest, most cheap players in football? No, it isn’t anyone from the University of Miami. One needs to look no further than the Denver Broncos offensive line. While they may be known for their team rule that prevents them from talking to the media (which is the shittiest rule in history, Mike Shanahan), but this offensive line should probably be better known for their cheating tactics.
Every team in the AFC West knows this, and probably every team in the NFL knows it. Can they block? There’s no doubt about that. But why can they block the way they do? Because they cheat. It’s that simple. Ask any defensive lineman in the NFL and they will tell you that the Broncos hold, they cut, they hit from behind, they tackle, and they don’t get called for it. For some reason, which I have yet to figure out, the officials do not call the Broncos offensive line the same way they call every other offensive line. It’s true.
Ask Chargers defensive tackle Jamal Williams who had his 2002 season shortened when a Broncos lineman dove for the back of his knee. Ask Chargers lineman Igor Olshansky who had Broncos center Tom Nalen dive for his knees when Jake Plummer had already spiked the ball. Obviously Olshansky responded by punching Nalen. I would have done the same, and probably more had Nalen tried to end my career. Olshanksy was thrown out of the game, but there was no infraction called on Nalen. Why was this the case? I don’t know. I’m not defending Olshansky’s actions, I’m attacking Nalen’s.
These are just a few of the atrocities I have seen over the years. I cannot count the number of times I’ve seen one offensive lineman engage a defender only to have another one cut out his legs. Not only is this illegal, it is dirty and is extremely dangerous to the player. Something needs to be done about the way that these guys play. They are a disgrace to the NFL and the game of football.
